abstract: The paper, starting from a premise on the long-standing relationship between law and music, which has been the focus of legal scholars, aims to examine its current relevance within the framework of the debate on the benefits and risks of using artificial intelligence (AI). In this regard, the reference to the provisions introduced by the European so-called “AI Act,” which marks an important step forward towards the regulation of AI use, is taken into consideration. This is set against the need to promote an approach aimed at strengthening critical skills and digital literacy, which are essential prerequisites for countering uncritical automatism and reaffirming the irreplaceable centrality of human choice in the act of interpretation.
