European Citizenship Prize for Peoples Europe and World Peace

Set up in 2011 by the City of Belgioioso (Pavia), at the initiative and on proposal of the Altiero Spinelli Centre (CeAS) – Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, the Prize, hosted in the medieval Castle of Belgioioso, aims to highlight merits and achievements obtained in social, political-institutional, scientific and artistic-cultural fields by individuals, associations or entities that with their respective professional, associative, institutional activities have made a significant contribution in support of the European integration process: the Prize is awarded following the decision of a European Jury.

In past editions the prize was awarded to: European Parliament (2011); Committee of the Regions (2012); Municipality of Lampedusa (2013); university scholars for academic merits in the field of European studies (2016); On. Laura Boldrini, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies (2017).

In the next editions cash prizes will be awarded for papers written by young people at the end of academic courses, such as PhD courses, university masters and post-graduate courses of higher education: lceonline will publish (in full or in the form of extracts) awarded texts.
